Associate professor, Bowie State University, 1965-. Adjunct professor, University of Maryland University College. Former business owner, Reston Town and Country School, Reston, Virginia. Guest lecturer in Asia and Europe for U.S. Information Agency. Special assistant for ethnic affairs, Republican National Committee. Member, Montgomery County Men's Republican Club; National History Honor Society; American Association of University Professors (past president, local chapter); Urbana Homeowners Association; Order of the Elks. Past president, Bowie State University Faculty Association. Co-Editor, Toward Defining Literacy (1990). Married; four children.
