ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY GUARANTEED LOAN PROGRAM
Renamed Assistive Technology Loan Program in July 2008 (Chapter 62, Acts of 2008).

CHILDREN'S POLICY
In Aug. 2007, absorbed into Education Policy.

COMMUNITY INTEGRATION POLICY
Reorganized as Community Living Policy in 2008.

HOUSING POLICY
Function transitioned to Chief of Staff in late 2007.

LONG-TERM CARE POLICY
In Aug. 2007, renamed Community Intergration Policy.

MARKETING & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Under Technology Assistance Program, restructured as Communications, Outreach, and Program Development in Sept. 2012.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Personal Assistance Services Advisory Committee formed under Office of Personal Assistance Services in July 2005 (Chapter 439, Acts of 2005). Committee advised Department on personal care, attendant care, and home care services. Committee guided Department in development of standards for training of personal care workers; determining feasibility of establishing a registry for personal care workers or a referral system of individual providers; and setting compensation levels for personal care workers.

Appointed by Governor to three-year terms, Committee consisted of twenty-one members (Code Human Services Article, secs. 7-135 through 7-140).

Abolished Oct. 1, 2010 (Chapter 207, Acts of 2010).

In March 2005, Secretary of Disabilities and Executive Director of Mental Hygiene Administration, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, convened Task Force on Self-Directed Mental Health Care.

Task Force developed recommendations for establishing a pilot program that would allow those who use mental health services to devise their own service program, consistent with recommendations of federal New Freedom Commission on Mental Health.

In Nov. 2005, Task Force reported its recommendations to Department of Disabilities and Mental Hygiene Administration. Task Force continued to meet until some time in 2007 to oversee implementation of its recommendations.
