In 2014, Maryland ranked 41st among the 50 states for total nonfuel raw mineral production value at $277 million and accounted for nearly 0.36 percent of the country's total production value. This was an increase from $255 million in 2013. As per estimates of 2014, portland cement represented the leading nonfuel commodity, followed by crushed stone and sand and gravel.
